Warner Linear B-Track K2E for Carton Making Equipment

One of the world’s leading suppliers of equipment and services to packaging and label manufacturers in the folding carton, corrugated board and flexible materials industries needed reliable linear actuators for a new carton making machine.

Previous machine designs required guide positions to be set by hand to accommodate five different cardboard box configurations that are die cut, folded and glued on the machine. The new machine incorporates electric actuators that save time and increase productivity by allowing the customer to automatically preset the machine with the five, fixed precise positions.

After technical consultation with the OEM’s engineering team, Warner Linear provided a custom modified B-Track K2E electric actuator to meet the application specifications. The actuators supplied feature an optional internal potentiometer that allows the customer to automatically preset various positions within the full stroke range.

B-Track K2E actuators utilize a patented in-line load transfer design which yields a high load capability for rugged-duty applications, efficient power utilization, and compact package size. Units provide years of trouble-free service with a load capacity up to 1500 lbs. (6672 N). All K2E models feature an extruded aluminum tube design with an externally- mounted, adjustable non-contact magnetic limit switch. Other features include a DC motor, a ball detent overload clutch, protective coatings and O-rings throughout. Thermal overload is also incorporated into the double ball bearing motor. A Delrin® nut with a rolled hybrid Acme style screw provides high-impact capability and long screw life.
