Rugged All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) have evolved significantly over recent years. Many models now come equipped with a wide range of performance and convenience features including powered dump boxes. Linear actuators allow users to empty their dump box without the physical exertion of raising the beds manually.
Typically mounted underneath the bed itself, the actuator option is becoming more popular with consumers. This challenging application requires an actuator that can fit within the tight confines of an ATV chassis, move heavy loads with ease, and resist rust and dirt.
Warner Linear’s new, patented, electric H-Track actuator with self-contained hydraulic actuation, provides the performance of hydraulics without the space requirements and expense of a full-size hydraulic system. The unit’s compact design allows it to fit in tight spaces, making it an ideal choice for tough ATV dump box applications.
The actuator has the ability to move loads up to 4,800 lbs. and the fully sealed, anodized aluminum housing resists corrosion and dirt intrusion. Weather-tight H-Track actuators are IP67 static, IP69K dynamic and 500-hour salt spray rated.
The H-Track also features a retract relief valve that can be set low to engage in case of an obstruction as the bed retracts back to a resting position. This low setting also protects the dump bed from bending upon full retraction, a common issue with other electric actuators.
